Which workout is best for heart failure? new study aims to find out
NCT ID NCT07519473
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares two supervised exercise programs—neuromuscular training (focusing on balance and coordination) and resistance training (using weights and bands)—in 40 adults with chronic heart failure. Over 10 weeks, researchers will measure how far participants can walk, their heart and lung fitness, and lower body strength. The goal is to identify the more effective rehabilitation approach to improve daily function and quality of life.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
exercise training (neuromuscular or resistance)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show which type of exercise is better for helping heart failure patients walk farther, breathe easier, and feel stronger in daily life.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 40 people, so results may not apply to all heart failure patients. Exercise programs also require ongoing commitment to maintain benefits.
