NCT ID NCT07307690

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study compares an 8-week versus a 12-week supervised exercise programme in 50 colorectal cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. The goal is to see if exercise can reduce chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy—nerve damage causing tingling, numbness, and pain—and improve quality of life. Participants will do two 50-minute sessions per week with a physiotherapist, including strength and flexibility exercises.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

supervised physical exercise programme

What this could lead to

If it works, this could show that a shorter 8-week exercise programme is as effective as a 12-week one for reducing nerve pain and improving daily life.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage trial with only 50 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. Exercise might not reduce nerve symptoms for everyone.
