Fat's secret messages: could tiny particles predict heart disease?
NCT ID NCT06408961
First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 30, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This study looks at tiny particles called extracellular vesicles that are released from fat tissue. Researchers want to understand how these particles carry signals that may affect the heart and liver, especially in people with obesity. By studying samples from 100 patients having weight-loss surgery, they hope to learn more about the links between obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
