Hormone pill may block bad memories after trauma

NCT ID NCT07419594

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a single dose of estradiol (a hormone) can reduce the number of intrusive, unwanted memories that form after a traumatic event. Healthy female volunteers will watch a stressful film and then record any intrusive memories over the next four days. The goal is to understand how hormones affect memory formation, which could lead to new ways to prevent PTSD.
