Obesity and gum health: a deep dive into epigenetic links

NCT ID NCT07610902

First seen Jun 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at how obesity may change the way genes work in people with gum disease. Researchers will compare obese and non-obese adults with gum disease, checking their saliva and gum fluid for signs of inflammation and genetic changes. Participants will receive a deep cleaning, and the team will track how these markers shift over time. The goal is to better understand the connection between obesity, gum health, and epigenetics.
