New Immunotherapy-Chemo combo aims to tackle rare sarcoma
NCT ID NCT07243626
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This phase 2 trial tests whether adding envafolimab (an immunotherapy) to standard chemotherapy (doxorubicin and ifosfamide) can improve outcomes for people with advanced soft tissue sarcoma who haven't had prior treatment. About 25 adults will receive the combination every 3 weeks. The study will measure how long the cancer stays under control and any side effects.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- envafolimab (a PD-L1 inhibitor) combined with doxorubicin and ifosfamide (chemotherapy)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could offer a more effective first-line treatment option for advanced soft tissue sarcoma, potentially improving tumor shrinkage and delaying disease progression.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-phase trial (25 participants) with no control group, so results may not be conclusive. The combination may cause significant side effects, and not all sarcoma subtypes may respond.
