Acupuncture needles take on diabetic nerve pain in new trial
NCT ID NCT07551726
First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether low-frequency electroacupuncture can reduce pain, numbness, and other symptoms of diabetic peripheral neuropathy, a common nerve problem caused by diabetes. About 92 adults with this condition will receive either real or sham electroacupuncture for 6 weeks. Researchers will measure nerve function, pain levels, and quality of life to see if this safe, needle-based treatment offers relief.
