Can simple posture exercises ease knee arthritis pain?

NCT ID NCT07646366

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study will test whether Egoscue postural exercises, alone or combined with a hands-on technique called Mobilization with Movement (MWM), can reduce pain, improve balance, and boost quality of life in people with knee osteoarthritis. Researchers plan to enroll 56 adults aged 40 to 60 with mild to moderate knee arthritis. Participants will be split into two groups to compare the effects over the study period.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Egoscue postural alignment exercises and Mulligan's Mobilization with Movement (MWM) manual therapy
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a non-drug, exercise-based option to ease pain and improve mobility in people with knee osteoarthritis.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial (56 participants) comparing two exercise approaches, so results may not apply broadly. The study hasn't started recruiting yet, and benefits may be modest.
