Earthworm extract could tame diabetes inflammation

NCT ID NCT07684625

First seen Jul 06, 2026 · Last updated Jul 07, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether an extract from the earthworm Lumbricus rubellus (DLBS1033) can reduce inflammation and improve quality of life in people with type 2 diabetes. Sixty adults on standard diabetes therapy will receive either a low or high dose of the extract or continue standard care alone for four weeks. Researchers will measure changes in blood markers of inflammation (hs-CRP) and blood vessel health (VEGF), along with self-reported well-being.
