First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests whether a structured 6-8 week exercise and education program, started soon after a hospital stay for a pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in the lungs), can improve quality of life and reduce symptoms like shortness of breath. About 160 adults at higher risk for long-term problems will be randomly assigned to either the rehab program or standard follow-up care. Researchers will track changes in physical function, breathing, and mood over 6 months.
