Could your sleep and meal timing in early pregnancy predict diabetes?

NCT ID NCT07534670

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This pilot study looks at how sleep, physical activity, and meal timing in early pregnancy relate to blood sugar patterns and the risk of gestational diabetes. Researchers will track 140 pregnant women using wearable devices and an AI food-logging app. The goal is to see if real-time self-monitoring can improve blood sugar control compared to usual care.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could help identify early behavioral patterns that predict gestational diabetes, leading to simple lifestyle interventions to reduce risk.

What could go wrong

This is a small pilot study (140 participants) that is not yet recruiting. It aims to gather data, not test a treatment, so direct health benefits are uncertain and results may not apply to all pregnant women.
