New heart scan could catch damage early in childhood cancer survivors

NCT ID NCT03790943

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at 500 adult survivors of childhood cancer to see if a newer type of heart ultrasound, called speckle tracking, can find heart problems earlier than the usual method. Researchers want to know if this technique can detect heart damage sooner, which could help with earlier treatment. Participants will have heart scans and exercise tests, and their past cancer treatments will be reviewed.
