Heart procedure trial aims to slash stroke risk for millions

NCT ID NCT06324188

Summary

This large international study is testing whether performing a heart rhythm procedure (ablation) soon after diagnosis can prevent strokes, heart failure, and cardiovascular death in people with atrial fibrillation who have other health conditions like high blood pressure or diabetes. The trial will compare early ablation to standard medical care in over 2,300 high-risk patients. The goal is to see if actively controlling the heart rhythm early leads to better long-term health outcomes than current approaches.
