Can your phone prevent diabetes? app vs. human coach Face-Off

NCT ID NCT05056376

Summary

This study tested whether a fully automated smartphone app could be as effective as a traditional human coach program at helping people with prediabetes lower their risk of developing type 2 diabetes. 368 adults were randomly assigned to use either the app with a smart scale or attend group coaching sessions for a year. Researchers measured weight loss, blood sugar levels, and physical activity to see which approach worked better.
