This study looked at whether a heart-healthy DASH diet (low salt, high quality) could prevent heart failure in 71 Veterans who had high blood pressure and metabolic syndrome (a cluster of conditions like obesity and abnormal cholesterol). Participants followed the diet and researchers measured changes in artery stiffness and heart structure. The goal was to see if improving diet could stop heart damage before it leads to heart failure.
