First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding dexmedetomidine to a standard numbing medicine (bupivacaine) improves pain relief after a planned C-section. Eighty pregnant women received the injection near the lower back muscles. Researchers measured pain levels, how long relief lasted, and if less extra pain medicine was needed. The goal was to make recovery more comfortable.
