First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests three different dental implant surfaces to see which one best preserves the bone around the implant and gives the best look. Thirty-nine adults needing a tooth replaced will get one of the three implant types. Researchers will measure bone changes and patient satisfaction one year after the implant is placed.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

dental implant with different surface textures (NGA, BLX, TLX)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help dentists choose the best implant surface to keep bone stable and improve long-term appearance.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 39 people, so results may not apply to everyone. It looks at bone changes and appearance, not cure or disease treatment.
