First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 36 times
Summary
This study tests an oral medication, deferiprone, to safely remove excess iron from the brain after a ruptured aneurysm causes bleeding. About half of survivors have lasting memory and thinking problems. The trial will measure iron levels in spinal fluid and brain scans, and track thinking skills over time. 66 adults aged 18-75 with moderate to severe aneurysm bleeds are being recruited.
