First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tested two different spots in the brain for deep brain stimulation (DBS) to see which one better controls tremors in people with Parkinson's disease. 27 participants received stimulation in both the posterior subthalamic area (PSA) and the subthalamic nucleus (STN) in a random order, without knowing which was active.
