First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This small pilot study tested a new way of using deep brain stimulation in 10 people with Parkinson's disease who still had freezing of gait despite standard treatment. The researchers stimulated two brain areas together instead of one, hoping to reduce walking problems. The study measured changes in a freezing-of-gait questionnaire after one month of each stimulation setting.
