Summary

This study tests if a technique called ischemic postconditioning, done during emergency artery-opening treatment, can reduce heart damage and lower the chance of heart failure or death. About 1,800 adults with a severe type of heart attack (STEMI) and completely blocked arteries will take part. The goal is to see if this extra step improves long-term outcomes.
