NCT ID NCT07011797
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This completed Phase 2 study tested different doses of CX11 tablets against a placebo in 250 overweight or obese adults. Participants took the pill once daily with meals for 36 weeks, followed by a 2-week safety check. The main goal was to see how much weight people lost and whether the drug was safe and tolerable.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
CX11 (also known as VCT220) tablets
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a new daily pill to help people with obesity lose weight and improve related health issues like high blood pressure or prediabetes.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 2 trial with only 250 people, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug may cause side effects or fail to show meaningful weight loss compared to placebo.
