Could freezing nerves beat botox for shoulder spasticity pain?
NCT ID NCT06782464
First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tests if freezing specific shoulder nerves (cryoneurolysis) can reduce pain and improve movement in people with spasticity from stroke, multiple sclerosis, or brain injury. About 50 adults will receive either one nerve-freezing session or standard Botox injections, then follow a 24-week rehab program. The goal is to see if cryoneurolysis works as well as Botox and lasts longer.
