First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looked at three different rehabilitation plans after arthroscopic surgery for a torn rotator cuff tendon. The goal was to see which plan helps the tendon heal best and improves shoulder function. The study included adults aged 40 to 65 with a specific type of tear. Participants were assigned to one of three groups: 6 weeks of strict rest, 3 weeks of rest then 3 weeks of gentle movement, or immediate gentle movement for 6 weeks, all followed by active rehab. The study was stopped early, so results are limited.
