Can a community health worker lighten the load for rural caregivers?
NCT ID NCT06963970
First seen Nov 01, 2025
Summary
This study tests whether a trained community health worker, who provides remote support, can reduce the burden and improve satisfaction for rural caregivers of older veterans with serious illnesses like dementia or cancer. About 480 care partners will be randomly assigned to receive this extra support or usual care. The goal is to see if this help makes caregiving easier and improves well-being for both the caregiver and the veteran.
