Brain training with a virtual coach may fight chemo fog
NCT ID NCT06027632
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether online cognitive exercises, guided by a neuropsychologist, can reduce memory and thinking problems (chemo brain) in 300 breast cancer patients after chemotherapy. Participants will do 20-minute brain games three times a week for 12 weeks, with some getting weekly video coaching. The goal is to see if the coaching helps more than doing the exercises alone.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- computerized cognitive stimulation program (HAPPYneuron-Pro)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a practical, at-home way to reduce 'chemo brain' and improve daily thinking skills for breast cancer survivors.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-stage study with no prior results for this specific supervised approach. The benefit may be small or no better than unsupervised exercises, and results may not apply to all patients.
