Could rebreathing your own breath stop the dizziness?

NCT ID NCT05908760

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a simple device that makes you breathe in a little extra carbon dioxide (CO2) can help raise blood pressure in people with a condition called neurogenic orthostatic hypotension (nOH). People with nOH get dizzy or even faint when they stand up because their blood pressure drops too much. The study will have 28 adults with nOH try the CO2 device and compare it to breathing normal air during a tilt-table test. The goal is to see if this easy, low-cost approach can improve blood pressure and reduce symptoms.
