Gel could save your jawbone after tooth pull
NCT ID NCT07571863
First seen May 14, 2026 ยท Last updated May 14, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether a gel made from chitosan (a natural substance from shellfish) could better preserve the jawbone after a tooth is pulled, compared to letting the socket heal on its own. Twenty-six adults with at least one hopeless tooth in the back of the upper or lower jaw took part. Researchers used 3D X-rays to measure bone width changes over six months.
