Aloe vera powder tested as a natural way to save jawbone after tooth loss
NCT ID NCT07736053
First seen Jul 30, 2026 · Last updated Jul 31, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This trial tests whether acemannan aloe vera powder, placed into the socket right after a tooth is pulled, can better preserve the jawbone compared to letting the socket heal on its own. Healthy adults needing a front tooth extraction will be randomly assigned to receive the aloe vera treatment or natural healing. Researchers will use CT scans and bone samples taken months later to measure bone width and new bone formation.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- acemannan aloe vera powder extract applied into the tooth socket after extraction
- What this could lead to
- If effective, this could offer a simple, natural way to preserve jawbone after tooth removal, potentially improving outcomes for future dental implants.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 26 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The aloe vera extract may not improve bone healing over natural recovery.
