Real-Time glucose data may boost healthy habits in prediabetes
NCT ID NCT07423065
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether people with prediabetes and obesity change their eating and activity habits when they can see their glucose levels in real time versus when the data is hidden. Thirty-four adults will wear a continuous glucose monitor during both an open and a blinded phase. Researchers will compare glucose variability, calorie intake, and weight changes to see if real-time feedback leads to better health outcomes.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) device
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could show that real-time glucose feedback helps people with prediabetes make healthier choices and lose weight.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study with only 34 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The crossover design may also make it harder to see clear effects.
