CBD shows promise for Hard-to-Treat psychosis in major new trial

NCT ID NCT06778564

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding cannabidiol (CBD) to standard antipsychotic medication can improve symptoms in people experiencing their first episode of psychosis who haven't responded well to initial treatment. About 250 participants aged 16-40 will receive either CBD or a placebo for 6 weeks, alongside their usual medication. The goal is to see if CBD can enhance treatment response and confirm its safety in this group.
