NCT ID NCT02729922
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tracked 30 adults with advanced heart failure who received a CardioMEMS implant, a wireless sensor placed in the lung artery to monitor pressure. Patients sent data from home, and doctors used it to guide care. The goal was to see if this approach reduces hospital stays and improves quality of life.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
CardioMEMS implantable pulmonary artery sensor
What this could lead to
If successful, this registry could show that CardioMEMS helps reduce heart failure hospitalizations and improve quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed registry with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to all heart failure patients. It is observational, not a controlled trial.
