Summary

This study tests a new type of radiation called carbon ion radiotherapy given before surgery for soft tissue sarcoma. The goal is to see if it is safe and can reduce wound problems after surgery while better controlling the tumor. About 60 adults with sarcoma that can be removed will take part. The treatment involves eight radiation sessions over two weeks, followed by surgery six to eight weeks later.
