Scientists test new 'In-Situ' cancer vaccine strategy

NCT ID NCT04616248

Summary

This early-stage trial is testing the safety of a new combination treatment for people with advanced cancers that have spread and cannot be removed by surgery. Doctors inject immune-stimulating drugs directly into a tumor, then give a small dose of radiation to that same spot. The goal is to 'teach' the body's immune system to recognize and attack the cancer. The study is enrolling a small group of patients with specific advanced solid tumors, including melanoma, certain skin cancers, sarcomas, and breast cancer.
