Could elderly prostate cancer patients finally ditch lifelong hormone shots?
NCT ID NCT06824818
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looks at whether elderly men (70+) with prostate cancer who have been on hormone therapy for over 3 years can stop taking it. The idea is that their bodies may already be permanently unable to produce testosterone, so the shots may no longer be needed. Researchers will monitor testosterone levels and see how many men can stay off treatment without their cancer progressing.
