First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This small pilot study will test the safety and tolerability of bromocriptine, a drug used for other conditions, in 15 adults with schizophrenia who also have prediabetes (higher than normal blood sugar). The goal is to see if bromocriptine can help prevent or delay type 2 diabetes caused by antipsychotic medications. Participants will take bromocriptine for 6 weeks alongside their usual antipsychotic treatment.
