First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests an updated version of the BRITE suicide safety app, called ViraBrite, in 20 teens who have recently attempted suicide or had serious suicidal thoughts. The app uses smartphone data to detect times of high emotional distress and automatically sends coping tools and safety plan reminders. The goal is to see if these 'just-in-time' alerts increase how often teens use the app's coping features, ultimately helping them manage suicidal crises.
