First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a brief, culturally adapted form of behavioral activation therapy, delivered by psychologists in primary care clinics, can reduce depressive symptoms in adults. 96 participants with depression will receive the therapy and be compared to usual care. The study also evaluates how well the training and supervision of psychologists works in real-world settings.

brief culturally adapted behavioral activation therapy
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide an effective, scalable therapy for depression in Indonesian primary care settings.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study (96 participants) testing feasibility and short-term effects, so results may not generalize widely or show lasting benefit.
