NCT ID NCT07493369
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This pilot study tests a therapy called Positive Affect Treatment (PAT) for Spanish-speaking adults with depression, anxiety, and low positive affect (a lack of joy or interest). Twelve participants will attend 15 therapy sessions over about 4 months, focusing on pleasant activities, positive thinking, and savoring good experiences. The goal is to see if the therapy is feasible and acceptable, not yet to prove it works.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Positive Affect Treatment (PAT) - a behavioral therapy involving pleasurable activities, cognitive exercises, and savoring techniques
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could provide a new therapy option for Spanish-speaking individuals with depression and anxiety who struggle with low positive affect.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very small pilot study with only 12 participants and no control group, so results may not be generalizable. It is early-stage and focuses on feasibility, not proof of effectiveness.
