First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tests whether a time-efficient breathing exercise (inspiratory muscle strength training) can lower blood pressure and improve heart health in adults aged 50 and older with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea. Participants who cannot or will not use a CPAP machine will be randomly assigned to the breathing training or a control group. The main goal is to see if this simple, drug-free approach can reduce resting blood pressure over 36 weeks.
