Summary

This study tested a noninvasive brain stimulation technique called transcranial random noise stimulation to see if it could reduce cravings in 225 adults with substance use disorder plus another mental health condition like ADHD, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia. Participants received stimulation to a brain area linked to craving control. The goal was to measure changes in brain activity and self-reported substance use. The study is complete, but results are not yet widely reported.
