Brain zap and therapy may let surgeons remove more tumor safely

NCT ID NCT04745156

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This early study tests a new approach for people with slow-growing brain tumors located in areas that control movement. A small device placed on the skull delivers mild electrical stimulation while patients do physical therapy, aiming to retrain the brain so that critical functions move away from the tumor. The goal is to allow surgeons to remove more of the tumor without causing permanent weakness or speech problems. Only 3 adults will take part to check if the procedure is safe and feasible.
