First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looks at whether measuring sugar use in a key memory area of the brain can help predict confusion (delirium) after surgery in older adults with type 2 diabetes. Researchers will scan the brains of 154 patients before liver surgery and check for delirium afterward. The goal is to find a way to identify those at higher risk so doctors can take steps to prevent it.
