First seen May 10, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether a standardized Boswellia extract (a herbal supplement) combined with structured education sessions could improve symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in 60 adults aged 18-39. Participants took 500 mg of the extract twice daily for 30 days and attended classes on managing IBS. Researchers measured pain, bloating, bowel habits, and quality of life at the start, after one week, and after one month to see if the approach helped.
