Knee surgery showdown: does the cutting tool overheat your bone?

NCT ID NCT07010809

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at how hot bone gets during total knee replacement surgery when using a burr (robotic) versus a saw (conventional). Twenty patients will have their bone temperature measured with an infrared thermometer during the procedure. The goal is simply to compare the heat generated by each tool, not to change how patients are treated.
