Brain scan guided magnetic pulses aim to beat depression

NCT ID NCT04041479

First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a brain scan (fMRI) to guide magnetic stimulation (rTMS) can better treat depression that hasn't improved with medication. About 348 adults aged 22-65 with major depression will receive rTMS, and researchers will track changes in depression scores. The goal is to see if personalized targeting of brain networks leads to better outcomes.
