First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving sodium bicarbonate (a common substance) during a cardiac arrest in the hospital helps restart the heart. About 778 adults who have already received adrenaline will be randomly assigned to get bicarbonate or a placebo. The main goal is to see if more people have their heart start beating again, with follow-ups on survival and brain function at 30 days.
