This study looks at how therapeutic cooling after cardiac arrest affects the body's energy expenditure and which nutrients (sugars, fats, proteins) are burned for fuel. About 40 unconscious patients will be cooled to either 33°C or 36°C and given a fixed nutrition plan. Researchers will measure energy use at several time points during cooling and rewarming, and track neurological recovery at 28 days.
