NCT ID NCT07328204
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at 200 infants with biliary atresia to find the best age for Kasai portoenterostomy surgery. Researchers grouped babies by surgery age (from under 28 days to 120 days) and tracked their liver health for two years. The goal was to see which timing gives the best chance of keeping the child's own liver working without needing a transplant. Results will help doctors and families make informed decisions about when to schedule this critical surgery.
