This study looks at 150 people with persistent atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat) who are scheduled for a heart procedure called ablation. Researchers want to see if levels of a protein called BDNF in the blood are linked to signs of heart muscle damage (atrial cardiomyopathy).
